Herbal Chicken Soup Box (with Organic Chicken)

This soup focuses on revitalizing the body with nutrients and is the perfect all-season soup for increased energy. This soup is commonly used to support digestion and boost the immune system.

The soup box delivered right to your doorsteps contains:

- Organic Chicken (3 x ~4 to 4.5 lbs). The organic chicken comes flash frozen at -18℃ and comes in vacuum-sealed packaging. The chicken 

- Three Herbal Chicken Soup Packages (3 x 1 Packages). Each package contains only organic herbs and include the following:

(1) Organic Codonopsis Root - 20g (Radix Codonopsis, Dangshen): A perennial usually harvested in Autumn and whose root is considered an adaptogen to replenish energy and boost the immune system. Sweet in flavor, and warm in nature. Invigorates the stomach and spleen. Promote the production of body fluids and nourishes the blood. The herb eases digestive upsets (lack of appetite, fatigue, diarrhea) related to the spleen, augments energy, and supports the lungs.

(2) Organic Angelica Root - 10g (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Danggui):  Angelica root is generally dug up at the end of autumn and is native to many countries. Sweet/pungent in flavour, and warm in nature. Invigorates the liver, heart, and spleen. Angelica Root is used to nourish the blood, promote blood circulation, and moisten the intestine. 

(3) Organic Astralagus - 25g (Radix Astragali, Huangqi):  The root is harvested in spring and autumn. Sweet in flavor, and slightly warm in nature. Invigorates the spleen and lung. 

(4) Organic Dried Yam - 20g (Rhizoma Dioscoreae, Shan Yao): The yam is harvested and processed during the winter. Sweet in flavor, and neutral in nature. Invigorates the spleen, lung and kidney. 

(5) Organic Solomon's Seal - 10g (Rhizoma Polyganati Odarti, Yu Zhu): The rhizome is dug up and collected in autumn. Sweet in flavor, and slightly cold in nature. Invigorates the lung and stomach.

(6) Organic Red Dates - 40g (Ziziphi Jujuba, Da Zhao): Red dates have been cultivated for thousands of years and are grown/enjoyed around the world. Red dates are well-regarded as a fruit with health benefits. Sweet in flavor, and warm in nature. Invigorates the stomach and spleen. 

(7) Organic Goji Berries - 25g (Lycium barbarum, Gou Qi Zi): Goji berries have long been used in cuisine and supplementing health. Sweet in flavor, and neutral in nature. Invigorates the kidney and liver.

 (8) Organic Dragon's Eye - 10g (Dimocarpus longan, Long Yan Rou): Dragon's Eye is a dried fruit. Sweet in flavour, and warm in nature. Invigorates the heart and spleen.

Instructions

1) Submerge the organic chicken in water and bring the water to a boil for 5 minutes

2) Empty the herbal soup package into a bowl and gently rinse

2) Put the organic chicken into a new stock pot and add all the soup package ingredients from 1 package

3) Add ~3L of water or enough water to fully submerge the chicken. Bring everything to a boil, and then immediately turn the heat down to simmer.

4) Let the soup simmer for 1-1.5 hour.

5) Add salt for taste and enjoy!
